Red Velvet by Cupcake Winery

On Mother’s Day I decided to treat myself to a nice red wine. I have been stuck on white for quite a few months now and just needed to branch out. I’d had the Red Velvet by Cupcake Vineyards previously but didn’t get a chance to really enjoy it. We were chatting too much while I was getting my hair done at a friends house.

I know everyone loves it so I wasn’t going out on a limb that I’d regret buying it. Better safe than sorry when you are going for a treat. Who am I kidding? I’m a pansy and hate to waste money. I generally try something with friends before I’ll buy it. Hubby helps me branch out of that when we go shopping.

Runaway to Mom’s House

I’ve had a rough couple of weeks with different random issues. Taking off for spring break to my in-laws house couldn’t have come at a better time.

Here I literally sit with not a care in the world. The financial issue I was having is now taken care of. Not that we are debt free but back to “normal”. Shit’s not hovering over my head just waiting to blow up like it was.

Snoqualmie Whistlestop Red 2008

Snoqualmie Whistlestop RedIt’s true that I’m not supposed to be drinking right now. But it was just one of those days. A day that just gets away from you and doesn’t stop. Not a bad day, not a good day, just a day that I’ve lost somewhere in time. So yes, I bought wine.  How predictable?

Chateau Ste Michelle Harvest Select Sweet Riesling 2011

sweet rieslingOne night on facebook a friend posted about a twitter wine tasting she was participating in. It really caught my attention because:

a) she has good taste
b) I like to tweet with her regularly, so how fun would a wine tasting be
c) She was tasting Chateau Ste Michelle rieslings and that is my current wine infatuation!
d) I had plenty of warning so I could grab a bottle as well
