Obviously it’s been way too long since I’ve purged my feedreader. BOTH of them.
If I don’t get to the feedreader for a couple of weeks then there should be tons, I mean hours of me reading cool blog posts and getting caught up. However, the last two times I’ve finally gotten there I end up just hitting “mark all as read”. Poo
Now I have my feedreader set up in folders. Some of the blogs in there are for biz only. You know, keep an eye on what they are doing, laugh if they have a similar recipe to what I’ve posted in the last 30 days and making a relevant comment for some link back luv. I do mean relevant as I hate when people post “nice blog post, very helpful” Seriously? That’s a quick delete.
I’ve been watching the olympics a lot already and figured it was a good time to run through the old reader. It didn’t take long and I was bored, then annoyed, then getting ticked. I hit “mark all read”.
Now I understand that I post quite a bit of negative here. But this is my personal blog where I get to run away from my biz’s and just rant and rave. It is why this blog was created so many years ago and I’m not straying into new territory when I complain. So I’m not being hypocritcal when I say that all of the posts were negative. I mean, completely, ridiculously negative. Didn’t even want to read any more.
How odd is it that with how many niches I have through both my feedreaders and how many blogs there are, that everyone would be posting non-stop negative. Weird. Except then I went through by blog and found that it’s a theme with some of them.
So this means it’s time to clean house. I have to do it on my email lists I’m a subscriber for and with my social media accounts so why would my feeds be any different?
Don’t get me wrong, you can be negative and not lose me. But if I’m going to your cooking blog for recipes and kitchen info, I’m not really there to hear all about your personal life. UNLESS, it’s already been established that you post personal stuff on it too. Don’t switch on me without warning.
I definitely need to get some more personal blogs to follow. It’s easy to find the niche blogs but the personal blogs can’t be found just by going to google.
Do you have a blog I should be following?
