Well February has been a fitness and diet mess. Super high or super low, there hasn’t been much of an average day.
Birthdays and superbowl started off the month. My diet wasn’t horrible. I stuck with choices I should eat for my birthday dinner. The boy chose making sushi at home for his bday dinner. That’s decently healthy since we don’t put much mayo in the krab to use for California rolls.
In fact for the superbowl we planned healthier options. I made pulled buffalo chicken in the crock pot using chicken breasts. Then put it in lettuce cups.
But there were chips. Many chips. Then even more chips The chips were out of control. You can tell we don’t have them in the house much. The sales totally got us and we both went overboard buying.
And wine, much wine. Multiple days of much wine.
Sadly no exercise that whole weekend.
Except my push-ups. I was doing those even on birthday weekend. I’m still doing them. I’m on track to hit 1000 on the 29th. Today’s count is 805 and I have more to do at class in a couple of hours. I’ve been working on getting more full push-ups and doing less girlies.
I’m definitely taking this into March. It’s easy. There’s no excuse even if I go on trips. No equipment is necessary. I’m feeling the difference and know that if I keep it up my arms will be great for the tank tops this summer.
I’m thinking of adding another exercise as well. Unsure if it will be squats or crunches or both.
Sick and Sick
Here’s where the month went to crap. Week after my birthday I came down with head cold. Sadly that was only the second week of the month. It sucked and wouldn’t go away. Some days I could function a few hours but after lunch I was a zombie. I did so little.
Then 2 weeks later, I’m finally getting over that, BAM, stomach bug. I completely lost over 24 hours as I slept. It took 3 days to get semi normal. I did start working out at that point, but barely. If I put even a little more effort into a cardio workout my stomach would start hurting again. Stupid digestive track.
No more germs are allowed in this house!
I’m working on my plans for March. I’m keeping the 1000 push-ups going and adding something to it. I’ll be running and getting some crazy interval training in there. My soccer league starts the end of March and I must be in better shape so I can enjoy it.
Food. The FODMAPS diet works for me when I follow it strictly. I need to get back on that everyday for every meal. March 1st will be super strict 24 day challenge that I modify with the FODMAPS diet. Now don’t forget, I’m doing the this diet because of my IBS. I don’t recommend elimination diets unless you are trying to correct an issue. Talk to your doctor if you are having issues.
We’ll be doing another 30 day challenge. New reports will be added on the 1st. Join now and start out strong before the challenge. Get a few better habits rolling.
The biggest thing I need to do is get my head back in the game. All that time off has killed my motivation. Hey, you follow me because I’m honest right? Well, here’s the honest. Right now I’m making a lot of excuses. And I have a ton of really good ones. So many.
BUT, as we all know, excuses won’t make us happier or healthier. I have to make the choice every day. Be lazy or be healthy?
