old moments
I just got my first contacts. My eyes are still not that bad, but it’s very difficult to play soccer with even the little bit of bad eye sight I have.
So hubby was a sweetheart and contacted our insurance company to get an updated list of those locally that take it. We’ve only had the insurance for a year now and it’s taken a lot of places, but I’d had major issues finding someone for eye care.
My eyes are pretty much the same as the original prescription 9 years ago. That’s awesome I think! But I needed contacts because it’s difficult to play soccer right. Especially when it hits dusk and there are shadows. lol I figured it would take 10 days for them to come in and then another few days to get used to them.
Nope, I’m wearing them right now! WOW, they feel so weird. I am the person that has her husband put eye drops in. lol Sheer competitiveness and fear off looking like an idiot got me to put these contacts in and out quickly. Crap, now I’m already starting to stress because it took me a few minutes to get them out the first time. Tonight I will be alone and hubby isn’t even home to do it for me if needed. lol AHHHH, where’s my support? K, deep breaths, I can do this in a few hours. I’m a big girl, I can do this. lol Mommy help?!

old moments
Oh boy, I’m wearing my new glasses. At least that is what I call them. LOL I got them 9 years ago in Feb. Good grief, that is pitiful.
In my defense I did called around here recently because I obviously need a new prescription, my glasses aren’t strong enough anymore, but every place I talked to didn’t take my insurance. I only want a prescription from the eye doctor, then I will order online instead. Why pay my deductible when I can go to Zenni optical and order new glasses and even sunglasses starting at only $8. Lots of free extras are included and shipping is a flat rate $4.95. I really want some prescription sunglasses! But couldn’t really afford them before, now I will be able to have some sweet glasses and actually see. lol
Zenni Optical: Sell Rx Glasses $8 with case!
These are cool, but I’m not sure how many blue clothes I have to go with them. Maybe a purple would be better.

Now just to find a stupid doctor that takes my insurance so I can order!

old moments
Last weekend Santa came through with the fire department. Now my kids are 12 and 10, so they know that it was only Santa’s helper. But they were talking about how cute it was to see the little kids get all excited and jump up and down. SIGH, yep, old moment. My kids are old enough to recognize the fun little things in others that they don’t feel anymore.

old moments
Well bare with me, I’ve found a new idea to blog about. It won’t be weekly, it won’t be month, but good god it will be sporadic. These will be my moments when I have a bond with my growing old. Not with the fact that I’m growing old. DUH, happens, but I won’t ever get there. But these will be the moments that I realize my old relatives don’t really think they are old either. Just follow along and you will understand. lol I have a couple of them tonight to post.
1. Big one happened tonight in the shower tonight. There are bottles everywhere. Now this is not a problem, this does not make me old. But the fact that I know understand why old people have so many damn bottles and lotions in the shower does. WAHHHH, WTF? His soap, my soap, my adult acne soap, my bod scrub soap, his shampoo, my shampoo and conditioner for COLORED hair, OUR dandruff shampoo. Ugh, can you guess it was the dandruff shampoo that put it over the edge? QUITE LAUGHING RETTA! You may be younger, but it will catch up with you. lmao
2. This one actually happened yesterday. We ended up driving around for a few hours looking at houses on the market. 1/2 through, daughter makes a comment about what she wants. It dawned on me and I even said it out loud that honestly she didn’t get much say in the house. No, it wasn’t mean like cause we want the same things she does in a house. It’s just a big play house that adults own. Geesh. But when I said it I also said she’d only be living in it for the next 6 years. WTF!!! OMG, how did that happen? Huge old moment. Honestly, it’s only 6 more years til she graduates. Then hubby of course did not get the PMS vibe going on and said that the house we are in right now would be the longest she’d live in a house until she buys her own. {gasp, cough, choke} Oh so didn’t need to hear that. Quit knocking me back to reality. I like my world of denial.
So these are my truths. I hope they won’t happen very often, but they are happening more than I want them to now. Can you even imagine? Share your’s and wallow in my self-pity.
