There went my new years hope of getting here more often. Haven’t been doing very well with that.

There’s been some drama but a whole lot of being healthier and better to myself. So I guess it’s all trying to balance out.

Tonight the youngest and I are doing a movie marathon. Our local blockbuster store is going out of business so we went and raided it. I got 17 movies for only $50 with tax. This is really good for a movie addict. Now we are trying to watch as many as possible. Since all of us had caffeine we’ll see how long we can make it. It’s only a little after 10 here on the west coast so there’s still a chance.

Youngest picked the original Arthur for our fourth movie. We all like it better than the remake. It’s much funnier. The remake was such a disappointment. It seemed like they told Brandt he couldn’t put his own spin on anything and just stifled his performance. I mean, he IS Arthur’s character. We say him play Arthur in Get Him to the Greek for goodness sake. Love that movie too. lol

As I said, this is movie number four. We’ve also watched Mr. Woodcock, A Perfect Getaway, and Mothman Prophecies.

I love the fact I’ve raised the youngest to be a movie junkie with me. It’s very cool that he likes classics and new movies alike. The oldest is not like that at all. She only recently stopped refusing to watch anything older than her but she’ll complain about it usually. She rarely likes a movie and it’s usually something VERY teen girl oriented. Although we have finally gotten her to like some scary movies which was a major step.

They are saying snow in our forecast and we’re not getting our hopes up. BUT if it happens we’re ready for it in the movie department.

I was all set to stay home and watch Sex in the City 2 last night. Youngest was going to a little party at his girlfriends and there was talk about the oldest going to a movie with her friend. Figured I’d drop everyone off and enjoy nothing but a movie, not even getting online. But then there was nothing playing they wanted to see except for rated R movies. They had to have an adult go with them. Alright, I’ll jump, I wanted to see Paranormal Activity 2 anyway. Other neighbor teen said it was scarier than the first one.

I won’t lie and say I wasn’t scared. I was. I knew how weird stuff happened in the first one so we were all three waiting for it. THAT’S WHY WE WERE SO SCARED! It was the waiting that was so damn scary. You know it’s going to happen, but you just don’t know when it will start or in what form.

The girls both brought their blankets and I wore my husbands HUGE sweatshirt (hence almost blanket) and we were all scrunched down fetal position in our chairs with blankets up under our chins. lol Every time it went to a night scene we’d hunker down more. lol It got quite comical after a while and my back was starting to hurt from being all huddled over.

But was the movie any good? No, not really. It got my adrenaline pumping. It did scare me in some parts. But there is just so long between action. By the time it was getting towards the end my daughter and I were chatting and saying “wrap this up already”. It was creepy to know we had to come home to no hubby tonight and we stopped by the station to see if we could talk the guys into letting him go home roflmao We came home and watched Stepbrothers and quickly felt more comfortable.

If you are looking for an adrenaline hit then I’d suggest a matinee. I wouldn’t recommend going to it full price.

I am still reeling and my hubby’s ears are ringing. They will be for a bit I’m sure. I’m going to try and not hit him with this topic again, but alas, it’s so major I’m not 100% sure I can promise it. lol

Katherine Hegl was announced a while ago to be playing Stephanie Plum in “One for the Money”. REALLY? HOW? There is not much Jersey girl about her. I love Hegle. But alas, this is a VERY FAR STRETCH for me. Casting someone we have known in so many fun roles as a blonde is just not working for me as a sassy brunette. So we’ll see. Then we have others you cast of course.

Joe is a hard core Italian Jersey boy. WTF are you thinking casting a Dublin guy? He’s cute, but really? You are putting it way past the mark so again, we’ll see. I’m not happy you have messed with Joe at all. Like there weren’t a ton of hot Italian-American actors to pick from?

So far, Ranger was cast well. ahhhhh, cause out of the three if you cast him bad it was over. I wouldn’t even watch it on dvd for free. Sunjata has a huge (digga-digga) role to play up to. But since I’ve watched his cocky character often on Rescue Me, I know he can pull it off. Plus, he’s hot enough to carry it. Good job on that one.

As it stands, I won’t be running out to see this in the theaters like I would have. I’ve waited years for this movie to come to the screen and now I’m pretty disappointed. I can only imagine how the book has been hacked to pieces if the casting was so funky. So I’ll wait to hear how others like it and for the dvd to come out. It’s difficult enough to go see a favorite book made into a movie, I don’t need to set myself up for disappointment and pay for it.

I try hard to have no hopes about books when they become movies or tv shows. But I just love the Sookie Stackhouse series and I wanted to hold out hope that True Blood would magically be different than every other try out there.

Alas, as far as following the books and even the fun theme of the books, it’s a total fail. BUT, if I hadn’t read the books then it is great. I force myself to ignore the fact that it’s so completely different than the books and just enjoy. I was angry after the first season because they changed so much and didn’t have characters look anything like their descriptions in the book. But season 2 is SO different that I’m having an easier time.

I’m on episode 7, I think of season 2. So far they have thrown a lot of stuff in and taken a ton of artistic liberty with the story. But they have thrown a few of the funny spots in from the book.

I just wish they had stuck to the books more as it’s a very funny series. Usually this much rewriting seems to happen because it needed more action, but this isn’t the case. It hasn’t added more action at all, it added more bloody, vampiric gore than was actually in the books.

I’m now enjoying the True Blood series, but it could screw up at any time. Their choice of actor for Eric sucks and by rewriting his character so much they’ve ruined it for me. Sookie and Eric’s relationship is huge later in the series and them screwing up all this early stuff just sucks. They’ve really done a rewrite of Sam’s character as well. Not for the better. Then, don’t get me started on how they’ve changed her brother The Jason in the tv series is NOTHING like the books.

I better leave it at that. Truly, I like both for different reasons and am enjoying the series. However, I’m going to now reread the stackhouse series because I need a good laugh and they are good for that!

I never go to the movies. I mean NEVER! But I’m a total movie junkie, I just watch them all at home on my big screen so I can work at the same time, do laundry, and other meaningless activities. lol

So I’m sure my son was surprised when I said we were heading to the movies on Sunday. We both love horror movies and the new Nightmare on Elm Street was just too much to pass up. As a fan of the original movie and all the good and the stupid sequels that followed I had to go see this in the theaters like old times. Now I didn’t see the original in theaters, I’m not that damn old. But my little brother and I would see many of the rest of them together.

I was so glad we went to see the new one in the theater. It was well worth the matinee price we paid. It had way more story line to it than the original and wasn’t near the gore fest we both expected. Both were highly appreciated. Now don’t be mistaken, it’s still a horror movie and Freddy is definitely slicing and dicing. But my son and I expected a lot more gore.

They played the story out very well and gave more details. In fact I’m off to the movie store to rent the original right now. lol I’m just dieing to compare them. It’s been well over 20 years since I’ve seen the original.

I jumped so many times during the movie my son was cracking up. He hasn’t seen any of the nightmare movies, so he went in with no pre-existing ideas of who Freddy was. Well me, of course, not so much. I knew Freddy can pop out of anywhere in those damn dreams and will always be behind them. YET, it still made me jump when he showed up.

I give the movie 5 stars for sticking to the old school and melding it well with the new.

So many movies are coming out this year and even this month that we want to see. I’ll post if we do

Oh man, I haven’t watched this movie in over a year. I bought it from pay-per-view when we were still on satelite way back when. I watched it atleast once a week after tivo’ing it. I’m not kidding. I just fell in love with it.

Then I went a year without it as we switched to cable and my old tivo box was gone. I then put it in my own stocking this year. I hadn’t watched it again, until tonight. It’s been so many months since I’ve seen it.

I bawl. I bawl and bawl and bawl. Then when I’m bawling, I laugh. OH god, everytime you start laughing and the situation ends with P.S. I Love You. It’s just so much and it hits me. It’s just so real. I guess watching it makes me look at how I would be and how I hope my friends would keep at me. How they would know to push my buttons and make me wake up. That is why they are my friends right?

This movie moves me so much that I literally have a headache. I wish I had a girlfriend here to watch with me. I start crying before parts hit. If I watched this with hubby it would probably scare the hell out of him. I never lose my emotions like I do with this movie.

My fav quote from the movie and that is hard to fix on: Alone or not, you gotta walk ahead. The thing to remember is, if we’re all alone, then we’re all together in that too. ~kathy bates – PS, I love you

Monday I decide we should take Dad’s mind off of the death of our chief. Let’s go see the Dark Knight. OMG, wrong choice! I had no idea there would be so many deaths of the police dept. I lost it. Not only did they have the funeral procession and everyone in their blues like I will see next week, but the car pulled up in front of the cops house to tell his wife. Damn it don’t do that!

I held strong on Sunday for hubby. I went and bought a ton of food. Cooked enough to make any italian grandma proud and I’m not italian. lol Asked if he wanted to be alone or invite friends over and I sucked up my own feelings easily and hugged him and helped him. We went to bed when we got the page that they had recovered his body. That was too much for either of us to deal with. (btw, one kid is on vacation with friends and my parents took the youngest while we deal)

Anyway, Monday it started hitting me. Crying at the drop of a hat. Flags at half mass everywhere. Billboards on all the businesses with prayers and thoughts to all of us and his family. There are black curtains over the bay doors at our station down the street. I was on the way down to my senior citizen class I teach and realized that i had to let them know in case the memorial was during our class time.

I held on the whole class and then when we chilled out to stretch I brought it up and lost it. I’m so thankful for them. They all said to let it all out and that they are here for me. This is 19 women and 2 men that were strangers up until a march of this year. They are wonderful! So now they are helping me talk through it as well.

My biggest problem is thinking of that car driving up. I know any of you with spouses in one of the services knows what I’m talking about. I make sure that we do not fight before he goes to work because you just never know. But i just think of that car pulling up to tell her and how she knew before she even opened the door what they were going to say. I leave the room when the end of Ladder 49 starts and always have. I can’t cope with it and now hubby may understand why I can’t. It’s the worse nightmare come true and now it’s hit so close to home. His poor family.

There are links to the Sweeney Todd on MySpace and make them your top friends!

Oh, fun downloads on the site and then wallpaper, profile templates and icons if you go to the confessionals. While at the confessionals you can go and anonymously give your confession! Go read the past confessionals and get a good laugh from some. I like the little bits of evil. I’m all for karma, so when it comes around I definitely want to hear about it.

We can go into the confessional here on my blog. I confess that I have told my kids about the dumb bitch of a “friend” that met her new boyfriend on myspace. I hear now that she is moving to Minnesota with him. WOW. So my confession is that I think my kids know more about the “relationship” than they do. I’ve told them not to talk about it, but you know they will. For one thing I wanted my kids to understand that if I had done this to their father, then they would hear bad things about me from those that cared about their Dad. So when their friends are upset they need to understand why it’s happening and that people aren’t just being mean. But another reason is just pure mean. They are kids and I knew they would talk. I heard that her aunt is telling other people in our small town that it was he that cheated. NOT! So this way it will get around to the kids friends and then to the friends parents. lol yeah, sorry, I’m not usually so petty, but I really hate cheaters!!!

Ahh, that feels better and it’s just here for my limited readership. Visit the Sweeney Todd confessionals and spill your guts on how you’ve gotten revenge. It’s really therapeutic to let the world know what you have done. lol

I’m just warn out right now. I have no idea why. I got 7 hours sleep last night and that is more than usual. lol I’m not sure where the day went though and maybe that is part of the deal. Oh wait, hormones are playing a part. DUH, k, I know it now. I can ignore it now. I had diet coke at 3ish, but I guess it’s warn off by now.

Tomorrow is an odd day. I’m gonna go work out first thing in the morning, then come home early. I have quite a few appointments tomorrow and I’m hoping to get some new clients out of the four appointments. I’m going in with the mindset of getting two out of the four to sign up with me. Man do I need the money right now. Car and personal loan are due this weekend and I’m no where near making them!!! YIKES, I hate being stressed out about money.

I’ve got some fun off-shoots coming soon from this blog and I hope to have them completed by the end of this week.

I so need to go download new music on my zune. Guess I’ll go hit that while I blog. Oh and I have Georgia Rule and Delta Force to watch. Oh wait, I’m half way through Black Snake Moon. It’s been pretty good so far. I’m just waiting for the kids to go to bed so I can decide what to do. watch.

Big Brother is on tomorrow night and we are getting down to the wire. Only 4 of them left and one week. Sigh, it’s always so exciting and sad at the same time. I know it will be over, but I can’t wait to see who will win. bahahaha Thank you CBS for putting Survivor on right away so I can get through my withdrawals quicker. I’m looking forward to seeing how Ashley does.

I knew I was behind on my posts and boy am I. I never even talked about going to Gwennie. How could I be so neglectiful? YIKES, k let’s recap the concert.

Lady Sovereign was incredible! This girl kicks some serious ass! You can check out SOV’s myspace. I prefer the myspace because you don’t need a player to load to listen to her. lol Checked her out in my Zune account and low and behold she has like three albums out. WOOHOO. See the odd thing is, I’m not in to rap. Not a bit, not a smidge. Unless it’s the old school beastie boys or run dmc, can’t stand it. But she’s got some serious old school sound. Plus, she’s just bad ass. Listen to her Love me or Hate me song and tell me that’s not your new anthem Momma’s? You can check it on my myspace if you don’t believe me. And that is the remix with Missy Elliot, it’s not even the good version she sings herself.

It was hilarious to watch my friend. You could tell she was really uncomfortable with the “f” bomb being dropped so much. Oh yeah, well love me or hate me, it’s still an obsession, love me or hate me that is the question, if you love me than fuck you, if you hate me than fuck you! Ba-bing baby! I wanted to go and buy her t-shirt as soon as she was done on stage, but good grief I’d already spent $80 on shirts. lol I hope she comes in concert sometime this fall/winter. You’ve really got to check her out.

Then it was time for Akon. This was the one I was dreading because the crap on his myspace was so slow. I don’t know most pop artists names, I just know some of the songs when I hear them. lol Well we got to the concert and my daughter promptly drops the fact that he sings that “lonely, I’m so lonely” song. HOLY SHIT, I want to gauge out my eyes when I hear that song. bahahaha, so I promptly told our little party they could find me in the beer garden when he came on.

But then I got to cheap to go to the garden. You spend $100 on tickets and then another $200 on new clothes to wear, t-shirts and some drinks and kettle corn and tell me you’ll pay fucking $10 for a beer. Not gonna happen, so I sat for the concert. Low and behold he sings some songs that I can actually stand. But the best part of his concert was his DJ. Man, this is one guy I’d love to go party with. He was crazy and I loved him. He came out before the concert started to get us all jacked with other songs. Big mohawk, tux jacket (tails of course) and a kilt. Yummy, love a man in a kilt. So we are jacked up and then Akon comes out and of course all the girls are going crazy, blah, blah, blah. I didn’t really start getting interested though until he took off his shirt. thank you, you know how to keep a girls attention. ROFLMAO

So we finally get to Gwen. What can I say? I wish I’d had the money to buy earlier so I could have been up front. She is much more beautiful in person and she sings live even better than her albums. That’s so unheard of. I was dancing with the guy next to me for most of it and then my daughter finally loosened up and we were singing and dancing. That’s right, Momma didn’t raise no stick in the mud, let’s dance baby! Gwen and her girls danced throught the whole damn concert. man was I impressed. Then I got the confirmation I’ve been waiting, hoping, praying to the goddess for. She’s getting back with No Doubt after this concert tour and they will be back with another album. Oh thank you , thank you. I do love the dance Gwen, but I miss my No Doubt so much. And that means a concert will follow to promote the CD don’t you think? I’ll be waiting impatiently by the computer for those to go on sale.

She even came out in the audience for a song. Up in the middle of the covered area (outdoor concert) to be with her many girls. I simply love Gwen. She seems like such a real person that truly appreciates all that she has achieved. Boy I can’t wait for the new album and to see her in concert again. This time as herself with the guys, not this role model she needs to be with her dance music. lol I want her to let her hair down and go crazy on stage like the old days. Ahhhh, they haven’t even done the CD yet and I’m jonesin’ for the thing. lol

K, enough of that. I’m downloading the Zune software to my laptop finally. It’s killing me not to have my music out her on the back porch. Oh yeah, well love me or hate me baby!
