Well it just went back to last years post after the holidays and it’s got to be just me.  I am so bummed out and not even wanting Christmas this year.  I’m trying hard because I know it rubs off on the kids.  But I’m just so broke.  Last year at this time we were both going into the transition of new jobs and I was just leaving the gym that I worked way too many hours for little pay.  But the good thing about that gym was I had a steady income.  In a way I miss that, but there is no way I can be at work worrying about my kids being home.  I can’t put those kind of hours in.

Well it’s finally getting done.  We got the tree decorated early today.  I bought some rock candy lights and they are kind of crazy.  lol  But they are bright and I’m all about lights.

Then I told the kids to clean up all their stuff while we went to the gym so the decorations could go up.  They actually did!  Amazing!  So I took out the boxes of decorations and they did it all.  I haven’t touched a single one.  Why did I wait so long to do that?  Every year it’s been me having to put everything out and I wasn’t looking forward to it this year.  But low and behold I have years ahead of not having to do it at all anymore.  WOOHOO, I’ll take advantage of that thank you.

You can tell it’s still freeze your butt cold out there, but the sun is shining so bright it hurts my eyes here in the house.  The frost is mostly melted already and it’s only 9:30.  But I’m sure that is deceiving.  It’s probably still in the 30′s out there.  lol

There isn’t a cloud in the sky and I know why.  It’s been pre-destined that I put my Christmas lights up today.  roflmbo  Someone is giving me the extra push to get my butt out there and light up the nights for all my neighbors.  tee-hee-hee

Is there anyone that shops online that hasn’t bought from Amazon? I know this is the one site that I return to over and over. Even though I have to pay sales tax because, darn it, so many of the great online companies are here in my state. lol Oh well, free shipping is free shipping.

Anyway, Amazon is jumping in with both feet this Black Friday. The best deals have not been released yet. But there are already a ton of great savings in all departments going on.

Thanksgiving should be fun this year.  Especially since our commute will only be an hour.  Typically we end up taking the trip to my MIL’s and that was 4-5 hours.  But she has moved closer and now it’s only an hour.  woohoo

I called her today and of course was told that she had everything.  But my SIL is bringing the pies.  So now I feel like a little kid not bringing anything.  I’ll bring some crappy appetizers, but ugh.  Not happy about it and I didn’t realize that until now.  No one to blame, but myself.  I know she always says we don’t need to bring anything, so we should have made plans to bring what we wanted.

My Dad has to work on thanksgiving so we had dinner this afternoon.  It worked well cause we ate at half-time.  Dinner was good, but not great.  My Mom tries, but she’s only an ok cook.  Which is good in this instance because if I had two really good turkey dinners this week I’d gain way too much weight.

The turkey was yummy and the stuffing was better than normal.  That’s all I need to be happy.  Slather it up with gravy and we’re good to go.  Yikes, gotta hit the gym hard this week!

I may live up here in the Pacific Northwest, but that doesn’t mean I’m a hippie tree hugger. lol I’ve hugged some trees, but that was because I was about to run into them with my mountain bike. I thought of it as the better choice.

But I am really liking these peace symbol ornaments. They come in a set of two in 12″ and 4″. Both are made from copper plated stainless steal and can be used indoors our out. I love how they are showing the larger in the window attached with garland. In this time of horrible struggle between all of the countries of the world, I think this symbol has even more meaning.

I’ve added a timely article to today’s post as it is something we are trying to figure out here at our house. Now I grew up taking my younger brother out trick-or-treating so I still got to go. But I do think 7th grade was the last year I actually doorbelled. My daughter wanted to go with a group of friends downtown and we just didn’t see any point to that. It’s not like when we grew up. Yikes, did I just say that. lol No, but really. Hubby went out most of the night, but all of the cops knew him and his Dad, so they called his house before he even got home if he was doing anything wrong. So this year we are grabbing some of her friends to go out with us. Then we will tell her it was the last year for it. Looks like the halloween party will have to be on halloween night from now on.
