MMM, yummy recipes!

Sure I’m a personal trainer, shhhh, most of you are not supposed to know that. lol But some days I just don’t want to think about what is in the food and all the “nutritionals”. Yes, I am human damn it! Now I’m not saying that all the recipes on Shelly’s site are bad for you. I’m just saying that she has put the recipes on Shakin’ & Bakin’ because they are good.

Like the Strawberry Lady Puffs Recipe. OMG this sounds so yummy. But not only did she put the recipe up. There are links to the history of ladyfingers and a link for more recipes that use them. WOW, research and a recipe. OH and then I can make the recipe with the kids and pull the history info out and become the total dorky Mom. I always love to do that. Anything to make them roll their eyes at me. ROFLMAO

First t-dinner down

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: eating, holiday

My Dad has to work on thanksgiving so we had dinner this afternoon.  It worked well cause we ate at half-time.  Dinner was good, but not great.  My Mom tries, but she’s only an ok cook.  Which is good in this instance because if I had two really good turkey dinners this week I’d gain way too much weight.

The turkey was yummy and the stuffing was better than normal.  That’s all I need to be happy.  Slather it up with gravy and we’re good to go.  Yikes, gotta hit the gym hard this week!

Brady’s Oyster Feed

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: eating, vacations

We have wanted to hit this oyster feed for the last few years. Finally we hit it by accident. lol This was the only weekend we were
available to runaway to the ocean and low and behold, it’s oyster feed weekend! WOOHOO, all you can eat oysters!

Not only is it all you can eat, but the $14 price went to the clean water fund. Sweet, tax deduction for food!

I have to admit that I felt slightly out of place because so many regulars were there. But they were very friendly, I think I was just
expecting a little more mingling to happen. With the way the property goes the tables have some room between them. But like I said
we didn’t feel uncomfortable, it was just our first time here and it’s always weird the first time you go somewhere.

My first trip through I got the oyster stew and plenty of steamed oysters. Plus some BBQ’d oysters. Cocktail sauce and I was
good to go. One trip through down.

So then we went inside to buy my daughters sweat pants she’s been waiting a year to buy. Last year she didn’t have her money when
we came through town and she didn’t know how much money she had at home. Unfortunately, they were double the price! WTF, not buying
them now. She and I chatted and decided we should hit them tomorrow when we buy our seafood on the way out of town. They may have
the prices jacked for the feed. I have a feeling they don’t, but it’s possible. Plus, it’s just so damm cool that we can connect like
that. LMAO

The kids were free since they are under 12 and that was awesome. But they don’t like oysters anymore, they used to, so it was only
clam chowder for them. But alas, they have hot dogs for $1. We bought little one a hot dog and he ate 2 bowls of chowder. That’s a lot
of food! oldest ate 2 bowls of chowder and some rolls as well.

My second trip was all about the clam chowder and cole slaw. It was so yummy. I’d actually love some more right now. I think I will
buy some clams and make some next week.

The cool thing is you are allowed to bring your own drinks. Including beer. So we filled hubby’s big short pockets and he had a few.
I wanted one, but thankfully I didn’t have one. I was so full from the food that would have really set me over the edge. lol

Next year they have moved it to the second weekend in Sept. I like it in Sept. We will make it a new tradition for hubby’s bday.
I’m actually smelling a trip to the ocean with just a bunch of friends for his bday/oyster feed instead. Can you just picture the fun?
There are so many condo’s out here to rent. It would be awesome to grab a house or big condo with a few other couples. I’m already
to plan it. ;)

So join us the second week in Sept. for the Brady’s Oyster feed in 08!

I am a member of a couple of recipe services online. This is just one thing to make my life easier. Don’t get me wrong, I do like to cook. But there are days I don’t want to come up with something on my own and I definitely don’t want to make the old standby of tacos again. lol Dine Without Whine Dinner Recipes takes care of that.

Each week you will get a menu with the recipes and a shopping list. How easy is that? These recipes are picked by Mom’s to make sure they are kid friendly and approved. :) They also have a free newsletter you can sign up for with a special recipe included.

Check out their free sample preview and see just how easy it is to use.
