UGH, Oldest Height

Posted on 29 May 2010 by queen of all

Haven’t posted one of these oldest moments in a long time. lol  But here it is!

My youngest is a little over 12.  I’m sure he’s officially taller than me, but I refuse to measure until tomorrow so I can blog today/nite with no official knowledge that I hit shortest like I always knew I would.

I’m 5’6″.  I’m was shortest in my immediate family growing up.  No idea why as my male cousins are tall, it’s just us female cousins that are shorter than our parents.  WHAT?  There’s a chromosome study ready to go!

Why I Meal Plan

Why I Meal Plan

Posted on 24 May 2010 by queen of all

shopping listWhat’s for dinner? Do you dislike hearing this question as much as I do?

Whether getting home from work, running the kids to activities or getting to our own evening meetings, dinner can sure get in the way. It’s not easy to find a schedule on some nights that is perfect for everyone to eat, let alone a time to cook that meal.

I do enjoy cooking, it’s just that being such a busy mom I don’t have the time most nights or I’m too tired to enjoy it. Menu planning and once a week cooking have changed this.

Mt. St. Helen’s 30 Year Anniversary

Mt. St. Helen’s 30 Year Anniversary

eruption10It’s hard to believe that I was only 7 when the mountain blew. That’s how it’s referred to around here, the day she blew. I know people freak out thinking about living by a volcano, but hey, we can out run that…I’ve seen you freaks try to out run a tornado. Yeah, doesn’t turn out so well. We have a lot more notice before a mountain blows.  This is going to be a long post, so pour yourself a cold one, fill that mug with a ton of hot coffee and fix a sandwich :)

Goodbye Wellbutrin

Posted on 12 May 2010 by queen of all

Well no one can say I didn’t give it a good shot. Frankly I’m surprised it was the one prescribed to me after I finally figured out what was causing my issues.

I had a tremor so bad I would still spill my water glass when holding with two hands. I felt really stupid. The tremor even went so much as a facial tick and if I didn’t pay attention I could feel my teeth chatter slightly. Not cool and it didn’t show up until around 8 weeks into the drug.

Nightmare on Elm Street

Posted on 04 May 2010 by queen of all

I never go to the movies. I mean NEVER! But I’m a total movie junkie, I just watch them all at home on my big screen so I can work at the same time, do laundry, and other meaningless activities. lol

So I’m sure my son was surprised when I said we were heading to the movies on Sunday. We both love horror movies and the new Nightmare on Elm Street was just too much to pass up. As a fan of the original movie and all the good and the stupid sequels that followed I had to go see this in the theaters like old times. Now I didn’t see the original in theaters, I’m not that damn old. But my little brother and I would see many of the rest of them together.

Health Care Needs Reform

Posted on 01 May 2010 by queen of all

Cause they are mismanaged. I don’t give a shit what anyone on my twitter wall says. It’s mismanagement from every level. Top to bottom. If you have 8 people scheduled in an hour at $80 a visit for a doctors office and you can’t make your office sustainable then wtf are you doing in business and why am I supposed to trust you to take care of my body? If you can’t keep your department afloat after charging $2600 for less than an hour in the ER, then you are a fuck up. If you can’t make your hospital work after charging my retired in-laws $30k for less than 72 hours & yes that may be with the surgeon’s fee’s, then you are a fuck up.
