I got a link from Karen on Twitter to go and check out her post about your risk of getting breast and ovarian cancer. I didn’t want to, but like a moth to light I was drawn to see what the quiz would say.
My Mother’s sister had breast cancer before 40 and my paternal Grandma had severe breast cancer and shouldn’t have survived around 60, possibly late 50’s. I wasn’t of an age that I’d pay that much attention. So I figured I’d be off the charts. I mean I do take care of myself, but I do drink and I know that doesn’t help your numbers any.
So I was pleasantly surprised to get the news that I am doing exactly what I should be doing to not get it. I had my kids early and that is a major factor. But I also breast fed both kids for a total of 22 months between the 2 of them. This totally upped my help. My exercise is a big factor. So I feel great and I really appreciate Karen’s post. I feel really good right now knowing that I am doing well keeping myself healthier than my relatives.
