My Mom came to my daughters volleyball game and promptly let me know that my super-duper cool Great-Aunt had a severe brain hemorrhage overnight and was in the hospital on life support. She is pretty much gone already and my cousin was taking her off the ventilator because my Aunt never wanted to be that way. I’m very happy that my cousin is strong enough to take her Mother off of it as she wished. I hope my children will do the same.
So here I sit waiting for the horrible phone call saying she is completely gone. I was truly blessed that she set things up this summer and all of us Tucker women got together twice. Our trip to Reno this summer was all about this aunt! Then a few months ago my aunt flew back home from california and all of us met at the casino for breakfast together. My great-aunt had brought some great family items to give to my Mom and her sisters. She also told all of the sisters that one of my other Great-aunts had bought plots for the entire family and their spouses so they could all be buried on the island. I know that my aunt knew that this all needed to be said then as it was the last time we all got together.
I will miss my aunt terribly. In fact I can’t write anymore right now. Difficult to believe I know.
