Winds are up

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: general

Boy I’m glad they kicked up hard after I was already home.  I hate the wind.  We get high winds here, hurricane force all the time and no one in the world cares.  lol  But I still hate it.  You can hear it hitting harder than normal on the front window.  Which means it’s not coming from the mountains and the snow storm isn’t here yet.

There is supposed to be one more big storm coming in and I am told by my Dad it is expected Thurs. night.  So we’ll see tomorrow.  My Dad works security at the port and the ships are all trying to get by tomorrow morning, so that is a better sign I think than any doppler radar.  lol

Laziness is bad

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: general

Here I sit on the couch again.  There is snow on the ground and more on the way, but the main roads aren’t bad at all.  Our side road of course is, but that always is.  Nothing you can’t get through even without a 4 wheel drive.  I’ve hit the button just because, but it’s more hassle to pull over once you are on the main roads, then it’s really worth. lol

But the laziness has set in.  I went to the gym this morning for an appointment and I will go back in this evening, but I don’t wanna.  lol  I’m not even cleaning the house like I should be.  I did run the dishwasher a few minutes ago and I think I’ll throw some sheets in the washer in a minute as well.

I have two sites to launch on Friday and they still aren’t totally finished.  :(  I did work on one of them a lot yesterday and I was waiting for some information from the software company for the other one, so it wasn’t a total waste.  But I’ll be working really hard the next two days to get things completed.  lol  I am a procrastinator and I know this.

my old glasses

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: old moments

Oh boy, I’m wearing my new glasses. At least that is what I call them. LOL I got them 9 years ago in Feb. Good grief, that is pitiful.

In my defense I did called around here recently because I obviously need a new prescription, my glasses aren’t strong enough anymore, but every place I talked to didn’t take my insurance. I only want a prescription from the eye doctor, then I will order online instead. Why pay my deductible when I can go to Zenni optical and order new glasses and even sunglasses starting at only $8. Lots of free extras are included and shipping is a flat rate $4.95. I really want some prescription sunglasses! But couldn’t really afford them before, now I will be able to have some sweet glasses and actually see. lol

Zenni Optical: Sell Rx Glasses $8 with case!

These are cool, but I’m not sure how many blue clothes I have to go with them. Maybe a purple would be better.

Now just to find a stupid doctor that takes my insurance so I can order!

SNOW!

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: family

It finally hit.  They’ve been teasing me and saying we’d get it for days, but the snow finally was delivered.  There’s about 4 inches out there which is a good dump for us.  More is supposed to be on the way again tonight and then Thursdayish another storm is coming through.  Quit odd for this late in the winter.  But I’ll take it.  Big problem is trying to get the son’s bday party planned around all of this.

I went off to work this morning and probably shouldn’t have.  lol  My client called and I was still back and forth, but I decided I could make it.  I didn’t have any real problems, a little slipping here and there is all and I wasn’t in 4 wheel on the way there.  Then it snowed another inch+ in the two hours I was gone.  So the roads were heavy on the way home.  Thankfully everyone was driving REALLY slow so it was no big deal.  It’s the jackasses that still want to go 55/60 on the highway in this that annoy the shit out of me.  Although the 15 to 30 was not fun either.  lol

By the time I got home I knew I wasn’t going back out.  It was really coming down.  Luckily I only had to cancel one appointment, but it does make it difficult to book new clients!  :(

Snowday for kids and I and hubby is off work for 2 weeks.  Course his back is just tweaked and his vacation just started.  :(  He just took off to the chiropractors to see if it will get better quick.  He’s gonna get a pizza too since it’s sit around and eat day.  lol  K, off to work on my online training site and be productive!

Menu planning special

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: family

So Menu Planning Central has had a rough start to the year, but it’s to our benefit.

Here’s the story… “If you have visited Menu Planning Central in the last week or so, you have probably noticed that things weren’t quite right. Our
web-host was doing some minor maintenance on our site. When he finished he went to restore our site from the back-up. The only problem? For some
reason the back-up feature had not been working properly since September. Apparently this had never happened before to our hosting company, but it
happened to us. Therefore, when our site was restored, it was restored back to September. Considering that we’d launched only a few months prior to
that, we lost most of our members.”

YIKES! Can you imagine losing all of your hard earned members? I’d be such a wreck. But they have bucked right up and decided to run a special to get back those members and more.

*** New Promo goes until Feb. 1st ***

Normally, they charge $19.97 to join and then $19.97 per month.

To help boost membership back up, through the end of January they are offering a half-price sale. That is $9.97 to join and then $9.97 per month. This is an offer that won’t happen again you can count on that. You get a ton of resources for this very low price. Why not give it a try at the incredible discount? You can always cancel your subscription if it’s not for you.

Chocolate Jelly Mom

The Ten Chocolate Commandments For Mom
©Lisa Barker

The cacao plant’s botanical name, Theobroma cacao, literally means “food of the gods.” To its many devotees, chocolate is exactly that.

And, chocolate has many positive properties such as antioxidants (good for the heart) and a substance known as phenylethylamine that creates a mood akin to falling in love.

So it’s no wonder that survival of motherhood is directly related to the faith we invest in chocolate to sustain us through stressful times.  While chocolate should never replace the rightful presence of a Greater Being, God, in one’s life, from Whom all chocolate flows, one must respect the basic commandments regarding chocolate to ensure harmony among all mothers of good will.

1.  Thou shalt have no other foods before chocolate.  Chocolate and pure chocolate alone will be thy salvation, the darker, the better.

2.  Thou shalt not make for thyself an idol.  Leave no chocolate bar untouched.  Worship no chocolate bar, but instead eat completely, savoring every morsel.

3.  Thou shalt not make wrongful use of the name of thy chocolate.  Thou shalt not call it candy.  Thou shalt not call it junk food.  Thou shalt revere it as the supreme creation of cacao as intended.

4.  Remember the holidays that celebrate with chocolate and keep them.  Honor Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween and Christmas with heart-shaped boxes of chocolates, chocolate bunnies, chocolate bars and chocolate Santas and snowmen.

5.  Honor thy Father and Mother.  Especially thy mother.  Give her chocolate for all occasions especially the holidays in commandment four.

6.  Thou shalt not murder for chocolate, but thou mayest threaten others or take hostages especially during PMS.

7.  Thou shalt not commit the sin of eating thy friend’s chocolate.  The chocolate does not belong to thou and thou must not destroy the sacred bond between chocolate owner and chocolate bar.

8.  Thou shalt not steal.  Thou shalt keep thy hands off chocolate that does not belong to thou.

9.  Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.  Thou shalt not accuse thy neighbor of stealing thy chocolate when thou hast stayed up all night gorging thyself and hast thus forgotten due to a morning chocolate hangover.

10.  Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house filled with chocolate and thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s wife’s chocolate.  But thou may ask politely for a piece.

Disclaimer:  As with everything (munch, mmmph, munch), chocolate is best when eaten in moderation.  It should never replace your servings of (munch, mmmph, munch) fruit and veggies and if you enjoy one chocolate (munch, mmmph, munch) bar per week while decreasing your intake of other high-calorie foods, you may be able to enjoy (munch, mmmph, munch) this treat without gaining weight.

Saturday!!!

Yeah I made it!  She worked overtime so I didn’t get to her house until 7:30, but who cares?  Didn’t even drink so much I was hungover AWESOME!  We did absolutely nothing.  The tv was on stupid tv shows, but we didn’t even pay attention.  We just talked all night.  It was awesome, we hit it off so well.

We watched the first rock of love again of the season and laughed at ourselves for how cheesy we are watching it.  Was going to get ready to go home in the morning and we saw that the new episode was on.  So I had to stay and watch it with her.  lolol  It’s good to find a friend you can watch stupid tv with.

I’m working hard at being a good friend.  I have called people back when they call me and I am going out of my way to contact people.  I know I need to work harder at it as well or I won’t keep any of them.

Friday

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: bitchy day

Here’s how the day started.  Hubby’s alarm clock hit the second buzz and I was instantly awake.  What was I doing hearing his alarm clock?  HOLY SHIT!  My appointment was an hour ago.  WTF?  Great, missed the appointment, can’t call her yet to beg forgiveness because her cell phone is dead and she is still at the gym.  I can’t believe I didn’t actually turn the alarm on.  I set the right time, but didn’t turn it on.  SHIT!

All the rest of my appointments went well.  Even my cranky one that likes to doddle through her workouts.  I moved her through a little quicker than normal which is a feat.  But dropped daughter off and school and did the usual asking if she has everything.  No lunch.  SHIT!  See it’s just one little thing after another.  lol  So I get the boys home and we almost miss the bus because I’m getting ready to go to work.  Put her lunch in my car and go to appointment.  Take her lunch over in between appointments and wondered if she had her soccer socks.  No sooner did I think it and park at work, then I get a text.  Forgot soccer socks.  SHIT, SHIT, SHIT!  Go now or try to get them over after my appointments.  Workout now or workout after appointments.  Decided to be smart and run home and grab them asap before other stuff gets in the way.

So now I’m on my way to do the little runaround and then STAY at home.  I booked morning appointments not thinking of the fact that hubby won’t be home until around 9.  Oh well, the kids will be sleeping for most of the time I’m gone anyway.  lol  They will be just fine.

My friend and I are counting down the hours in texts back and forth to each other.  Is it Sat. night yet?

Thursday

ARGHHH, when is this week going to end.  I have already earned my girl’s night out, I don’t have to do more.  So every day has been a mess.  Don’t even want to post it all anymore because I’m sick of listening to myself whine.  My evening appointment made me seriously work for my money and that capped off my night.  Nuff said

The puppies

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: dogs

There are so many days that these little dogs help carry me through.  It gets pretty lonely as I adapt to the kids getting older and not needing me as much, my working and hubby being gone for 24 hour shifts.  There have been many times I’ve been blue and their they are.  So damn happy to see me like I’ve been gone for weeks and not just walked out of the room for 5 minutes.  lol

They aren’t even close to as spoiled as they are going to get.  I just bought them sweatshirts and they love them.  That’s all the incentive I need.  Game on!  Hitting doll clothes instead to save money.  If they will let me dress them, then I’m gonna just have to do it.

I worry about how my poor Aunt is doing without them.  Thankfully she is living down with her hubby now so she won’t be alone very much.  But still, these little girls grow on you right away.

Hubby still likes to complain about them and act like he didn’t want them.  But they are always curled up on him and you can tell he loves them just as much.
