Brady’s Oyster Feed

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: eating, vacations

We have wanted to hit this oyster feed for the last few years. Finally we hit it by accident. lol This was the only weekend we were
available to runaway to the ocean and low and behold, it’s oyster feed weekend! WOOHOO, all you can eat oysters!

Not only is it all you can eat, but the $14 price went to the clean water fund. Sweet, tax deduction for food!

I have to admit that I felt slightly out of place because so many regulars were there. But they were very friendly, I think I was just
expecting a little more mingling to happen. With the way the property goes the tables have some room between them. But like I said
we didn’t feel uncomfortable, it was just our first time here and it’s always weird the first time you go somewhere.

My first trip through I got the oyster stew and plenty of steamed oysters. Plus some BBQ’d oysters. Cocktail sauce and I was
good to go. One trip through down.

So then we went inside to buy my daughters sweat pants she’s been waiting a year to buy. Last year she didn’t have her money when
we came through town and she didn’t know how much money she had at home. Unfortunately, they were double the price! WTF, not buying
them now. She and I chatted and decided we should hit them tomorrow when we buy our seafood on the way out of town. They may have
the prices jacked for the feed. I have a feeling they don’t, but it’s possible. Plus, it’s just so damm cool that we can connect like
that. LMAO

The kids were free since they are under 12 and that was awesome. But they don’t like oysters anymore, they used to, so it was only
clam chowder for them. But alas, they have hot dogs for $1. We bought little one a hot dog and he ate 2 bowls of chowder. That’s a lot
of food! oldest ate 2 bowls of chowder and some rolls as well.

My second trip was all about the clam chowder and cole slaw. It was so yummy. I’d actually love some more right now. I think I will
buy some clams and make some next week.

The cool thing is you are allowed to bring your own drinks. Including beer. So we filled hubby’s big short pockets and he had a few.
I wanted one, but thankfully I didn’t have one. I was so full from the food that would have really set me over the edge. lol

Next year they have moved it to the second weekend in Sept. I like it in Sept. We will make it a new tradition for hubby’s bday.
I’m actually smelling a trip to the ocean with just a bunch of friends for his bday/oyster feed instead. Can you just picture the fun?
There are so many condo’s out here to rent. It would be awesome to grab a house or big condo with a few other couples. I’m already
to plan it. ;)

So join us the second week in Sept. for the Brady’s Oyster feed in 08!
