My adult acne

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: general

UGH, is it not the worst? I thought that I had it bad as a teenager, but alas I didn’t at all. It didn’t really start until after the kids, so late 20’s. By 30 it was horrible. I went to a dermatologist and they had me use this cream once a day and take a pill. The pill made me sick and the cream burnt the crap out of my face. When I worked out my face just felt permanently sunburned. Chapped and cracked. It hurt so bad and there wasn’t anything pretty about it during or after workouts especially. Needless to say, I quit using it all and just dealt with the breakouts.

Many friends had recommended Proactive and I had tried it at one time. Of course using it regularly as suggested helps. LOL So I quit and that was when I went to the dermatologist and paid big bucks for stuff I wouldn’t use.

So again, about 8 months ago I’m working with a great gal that had the same issue. She used Proactive and loved it. She told me that there were a few things she does so it doesn’t dry her skin out. She only uses the toner once a day instead of twice and that works for her. But the big thing I hadn’t done before was using a moisturizer. DOY, what a difference!

I had the typical mentality of not adding any more oil to my face, so I didn’t put any moisturizer on it. Big mistake! I would use these oil stripping products and then my face would have try to balance itself by making even more oil. Oh man, worse than ever.

Now I tell everyone how great Proactive is and the proper way to use it. Don’t forget the moisturizer. LOL The only reason I have any breakouts now are when I do the really bad thing of going to bed with my make-up on. YIKES, that is so bad. But in the old days that would have set my skin back for months. Now I just get a break out or two and they are gone in a couple of days max.

Proactive is seriously the best product on the market and especially for how affordable it is. The bottles of product last me well over a month. So there is my little infomercial. But I truly, truly love it and am so happy to not be so acne prone in my 30’s!

Genuine Comment

Well there is always vents on here, so I’ll post a warm fuzzy post.

I help, that is what I do. I listen to people when they need to vent and I help when I can. Especially little things. Little things tend to make a big difference to people. I know they do for me as well. I’m also not a girly-girl. I don’t talk trash, I talk truth. If I get “caught” for something I said about another, it was the truth, so I can back it up. That said, the other gym that our owners have, has a tremendous amount of drama. We do not. Thankfully we have hired a great gal that is like me as well. We don’t do drama. lol

Yesterday she gave me the ultimate comment. We were chatting about our views of the world as we do at times and she thanked me for being a genuine person. Wow, that is the ult…truly! I don’t think I could choose to live my life any other way but to be genuine. I had never had it put to me that way. But the title fits and I Know it is the way I want to keep living. Before I just did it, but now I have a title for it. LMAO

Old Moments

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: old moments

Well bare with me, I’ve found a new idea to blog about.  It won’t be weekly, it won’t be month, but good god it will be sporadic.  These will be my moments when I have a bond with my growing old.  Not with the fact that I’m growing old.  DUH, happens, but I won’t ever get there.  But these will be the moments that I realize my old relatives don’t really think they are old either.  Just follow along and you will understand.  lol  I have a couple of them tonight to post.

1.  Big one happened tonight in the shower tonight.  There are bottles everywhere.  Now this is not a problem, this does not make me old.  But the fact that I know understand why old people have so many damn bottles and lotions in the shower does.  WAHHHH, WTF?  His soap, my soap, my adult acne soap, my bod scrub soap, his shampoo, my shampoo and conditioner for COLORED hair, OUR dandruff shampoo.  Ugh, can you guess it was the dandruff shampoo that put it over the edge?  QUITE LAUGHING RETTA!  You may be younger, but it will catch up with you.  lmao

2.  This one actually happened yesterday.  We ended up driving around for a few hours looking at houses on the market.  1/2 through, daughter makes a comment about what she wants.  It dawned on me and I even said it out loud that honestly she didn’t get much say in the house.  No, it wasn’t mean like cause we want the same things she does in a house.  It’s just a big play house that adults own.  Geesh.  But when I said it I also said she’d only be living in it for the next 6 years.  WTF!!!  OMG, how did that happen?  Huge old moment.  Honestly, it’s only 6 more years til she graduates.  Then hubby of course did not get the PMS vibe going on and said that the house we are in right now would be the longest she’d live in a house until she buys her own.  {gasp, cough, choke}  Oh so didn’t need to hear that.  Quit knocking me back to reality.  I like my world of denial.

So these are my truths.  I hope they won’t happen very often, but they are happening more than I want them to now.  Can you even imagine?  Share your’s and wallow in my self-pity.

Thurs. 13 - Name

Thirteen Things about YOUR NAME - Valeria
1. My pronunciation is Russian, but it’s about the only thing I am not.
2. No Valeria, does not rhyme with diarrhea.
3. I am named after my Grandmother that passed away at my exact age.
4. My Grandmother was named after her parent’s best friend’s daughter that passed away as a child. They were Russian fur trappers. ( cool story, I like that history. )
5. I never had the nickname Val until Jr. High. You can tell those in my life that were before and after. lol My Mother was only 11 when Grandma died and she never knew that her real name was Valeria until after her death. So she made EVERYONE call me by my full name.
6. I LOVE MY NAME. But didn’t growing up liking it so much, since you have to explain it all the time.
7. Many people love to call me by my full name. It’s like a sense of accomplishment when they can get the pronunciation correct. LMAO
8. The first person that I ever saw the same name was on Sesame Street. One of the ladies that worked on it had the same name.
9. Second person wasn’t until Valeria Golino from Pee-Wee’s big top adventure. But wrong pronunciation as she is Spanish.
10. ” V ” is fun as an initial.
11. “V” is easy to find on clothing, towels, etc. As there aren’t many of us out there. It also hits clearance more often. BAHAHAHA
12. Bad side, there is no crazy spelling or nickname for Val. It just is. My friends were doing the Cindi, Nicci, etc. and I couldn’t change mine with anything.
13. Oh did I mention i love my name? It’s unique. I rarely run into another Val, let alone EVER a Valeria.

But I don’t see that Retta has done this meme.
All right, that’s it. I SUCK!!! I am on the search for some new blogging blood, but it’s not going to happen tonight. lol I also need to go hit the thurs. 13 and Supahstar.

Alright TAGGED!

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: general, tags

Woohoo, I’ve been tagged by new blog blood. :) LOVE IT!

Rebekah from The Day of a Mom tagged me for the 8 facts and habits meme. I did this for one of my business blogs, but that wasn’t any fun. I’m going to get sporadic on the tag with this one. So keep with me at the end!

Here are the rules:

A. Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves.

B. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed.

C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

Here we go:

1. I married my high school sweetheart. But not only did I do that, but 3 other couples that we are good friends with did as well. We are walking, talking statistical anomaly’s.

2. I hate to wash cars. We live in Seattle, it’s gonna rain soon, why bother? Now hubby is used to washing the damn fire/medic rigs and washes the cars all the time. I feel obligated. As long as I can get some sun while I’m doing it and don’t have to put my drink down, I’ll survive. ;)

3. We live in a manufactured home in a community. Yes, the lot is 1/3 of an acre, but it’s still a mobile home. :( Can’t wait to get my white trash butt out of here! lmao

4. I was in love with fire trucks way before I got together with hubby. It’s just fate that he drives one and I can go visit the truck any time I want to. lol I had my fire truck tattoo planned out when I was 16. Haven’t gotten it yet though.{sigh}

5. I am a registered band member of the Tsswassen nation in Canada. Didn’t get to register until the mid/late 80’s because my Grandma married a white man and was kicked off the books. {gasp} But our family never kicked us out. :) We just weren’t registered until later. I love my family!

6. I’m a late nighter. I’m only a morning person because I have to be. I love to stay up late after the kids have gone to bed and it’s all quiet. Especially during the Summer while I leave the house wide open and work on cooling if off.

7. I’ve become a napper. I’m working to break the habit, but darned if I don’t get really sleepy around 2pm. lol Siesta’s are a GREAT thing!

8. I’m a raised pack rat that is fighting it with all I’ve got. In fact tomorrow we are having a big yard sale so I can fight it some more!

Well that does it for weird facts and habits about me that I don’t think I’ve talked about before. So now the super hard part. Who to tag!

Ami Chan

Oh my word, that is all for right now. It is 3am for goodness sake! lmao I’ll get back to it I promise! I have more links on the PC for blogs.

Here’s the vent

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: general, relationships

Sigh, you knew it was coming.  So don’t read if you don’t want to, I labeled it for you to skip over.  lol

It’s a friends post of course, cause most vents are.   Or I should say a lack of friends?  No maybe a my friends suck?  Hmm, I pick “C”, all of the above.

I need some local friends, that is the truth.  But how does one go about getting friends that don’t suck?  How do you find other girls that aren’t drama queen’s?  That have to get all dressed up before they go out?  Now don’t get me wrong, I’d like to dress up now and again, but I’m a shorts and sandal’s kinda girl.  Doesn’t take me long and my hair almost always ends up in a damn ponytail by the end of the night, so why not start there most nights?  lol  K, that’s the plea for friends part of the post.  Nuff said, I know this is most women’s problem.  Finding people that they don’t feel are just telling their secrets behind their backs to everyone.

My supposed BF and I have been BFF for well over 20 years now.  Acutally it’s quite close to 30 years.  I’m not going to go through all the ups and downs of any good relationship because I’m sure you can imagine them.  We’ve survived most marriages in this country, there has to be some major upsets along the way.  Well we’ve hit another major one and I don’t know if I’ll get past it this time.  My feelings are so hurt and that doesn’t usually happen.  I’m a tough girl, but you can only walk on me so much.

Many moons ago when the oldest was a baby, our group of friends all went to vegas.  That is, all the girls went to vegas for a girls weekend.  I found out about it the week before by accident at our friends nursing school graduation.  Can you imagine how hurt I was?  Here I am 23 with a 1 year old and they are planning their trip all around me.  Hi, I realize I became invisible about 15 minutes ago, but I’m still here.  Yes I have a kid now, but does it hurt to ask if I can afford to go?  BTW, yes I could have, they got a super deal and planned it out for months.  Could have paid it off quickly.

So years later I finally got over it and needless to say we don’t hang with any of them anymore.  Boy, they were good friends weren’t they?

I knew my BFF was going on a cruise soon, she had let it slip about a month before.  I assumed that it was her and hubby going.  Wouldn’t you?  lol  When she gets back she calls to chat (we don’t talk all that much anymore) and tell me how much fun she had.  Low and behold it was her and 11 other girlfriends that went.  WTF?  WTF? WTF? WTF?  WAHHHHHH, it’s happening again, only with someone that should know just how much that would hurt me.  Oblivious of course.  I just listen to it all and act my usual self.  World’s best doormat I am.  ;)

But I do believe that was an ending to something.  Maybe I was waiting for this sign to finally split it off.  This is most definitely not the first problem over the last few years, not by far.  Again, I wont’ go into detail here with all of it.  But they are biggies.  I always let the piddly stuff slide, I don’t have time for that crap.

Am I off base by being so upset?  The whole thing cost her $700 with the cruise and airfare.  Yes I could have come up with that over a few months.

Done with the downer, I feel a little bit better for posting, but it’s not resolved by any means.

Pain in the Grass

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: music

See I told you I was behind in posts. I’ve got some other goodies to post about too. Personal bitches mostly, can’t believe I didn’t do it already. Show’s just how much it bothered me. Anyway, that’s not what this is about!

So KISW the only rock station in the world put out my weekly newsletter and there was an early invite to buy tickets for Pain in the Grass 2007. Hmm, never heard of it, but hey, Godsmack is headlining, it’s gotta be good. I run to the early buy website and holy crap, the tickets are only $25 a piece and there was a $6 surcharge for both tickets. That’s it! No ticketbastard charges for the facility, fee charges and then tax on top of all that. Nope, it was $56 for both tickets. That in itself freakin’ rocks no matter who was going to be in concert.

But stay with me here, I said it was Godsmack headlining. Can you believe it? Outdoor concert on Aug. 11th (saturday) and Godsmack is headlining. Doesn’t matter who the other 7 bands are that will be playing. Oh btw, it’s a good spot to tell you that I could have bought $100 tickets to be up front, but I thought that was a little much.

Hubby and I are taking the kids to the lake last tuesday and they announced the other bands. MOTHER FUCKER, my beloved Buckcherry is playing. yes, I’m kicking myself for not spending the $100 per ticket of hubbies money now. bahahahaha, but you can believe I will be down in front. Some how, some way, I will be down there by Keith! No, not Josh Todd the lead vocals, I want Keith Nelson the lead guitar. I’ve always had a thing for the guitar. ;)

Hubby has the entire day planned out. We will go to breakfast and then go out to the concert asap. It starts at 1, but every band that is playing we like. This is a kick ass concert. Oh and the now retired candlebox will be playing as well. Local boys have to play of course. So be jealous and wait for my lengthy posts about the concert in Aug. It’s going to be crazy. We already know we are getting a hotel room and a cab. There is only one nice hotel in Tacoma so we better see some of the boys there! YAHOOO baby, can you even wait for the crazy posts coming next month?

Gwen Stefani

Posted by: queen of all  :  Category: movies

I knew I was behind on my posts and boy am I.  I never even talked about going to Gwennie.  How could I be so neglectiful?  YIKES, k let’s recap the concert.  ;)

<a href=”http://www.ladysovereign.com/flash.php”>Lady Sovereign</a> was incredible!  This girl kicks some serious ass!  You can check out <a href=”http://www.myspace.com/ladysovereign”> SOV’s myspace</a>.  I prefer the myspace because you don’t need a player to load to listen to her.  lol  Checked her out in my <a href=”http://busymomma.com/?p=187″>Zune account</a> and low and behold she has like three albums out.  WOOHOO.  See the odd thing is, I’m not in to rap.  Not a bit, not a smidge.  Unless it’s the old school beastie boys or run dmc, can’t stand it.  But she’s got some serious old school sound.  Plus, she’s just bad ass.  Listen to her Love me or Hate me song and tell me that’s not your new anthem Momma’s?  You can check it on my <a href=”http://www.myspace.com/busymommaval”>myspace</a> if you don’t believe me.  And that is the remix with Missy Elliot, it’s not even the good version she sings herself.

It was hilarious to watch my friend.  You could tell she was really uncomfortable with the “f” bomb being dropped so much.  Oh yeah, well love me or hate me, it’s still an obsession, love me or hate me that is the question, if you love me than fuck you, if you hate me than fuck you!  Ba-bing baby!  I wanted to go and buy her t-shirt as soon as she was done on stage, but good grief I’d already spent $80 on shirts.  lol  I hope she comes in concert sometime this fall/winter.  You’ve really got to check her out.

Then it was time for <a href=”http://www.akononline.com/”>Akon</a>.  This was the one I was dreading because the crap on his myspace was so slow.  I don’t know most pop artists names, I just know some of the songs when I hear them.  lol  Well we got to the concert and my daughter promptly drops the fact that he sings that “lonely, I’m so lonely” song.  HOLY SHIT, I want to gauge out my eyes when I hear that song.  bahahaha, so I promptly told our little party they could find me in the beer garden when he came on.

But then I got to cheap to go to the garden.  You spend $100 on tickets and then another $200 on new clothes to wear, t-shirts and some drinks and kettle corn and tell me you’ll pay fucking $10 for a beer.  Not gonna happen, so I sat for the concert.  Low and behold he sings some songs that I can actually stand.  But the best part of his concert was his DJ.  Man, this is one guy I’d love to go party with.  He was crazy and I loved him.  He came out before the concert started to get us all jacked with other songs.  Big mohawk, tux jacket (tails of course) and a kilt.  Yummy, love a man in a kilt.  ;)  So we are jacked up and then Akon comes out and of course all the girls are going crazy, blah, blah, blah.  I didn’t really start getting interested though until he took off his shirt.  thank you, you know how to keep a girls attention.  ROFLMAO

So we finally get to Gwen.  What can I say?  I wish I’d had the money to buy earlier so I could have been up front.  She is much more beautiful in person and she sings live even better than her albums.  That’s so unheard of.  I was dancing with the guy next to me for most of it and then my daughter finally loosened up and we were singing and dancing.  That’s right, Momma didn’t raise no stick in the mud, let’s dance baby!  Gwen and her girls danced throught the whole damn concert.  man was I impressed.  Then I got the confirmation I’ve been waiting, hoping, praying to the goddess for.  She’s getting back with No Doubt after this concert tour and they will be back with another album.  Oh thank you , thank you.  I do love the dance Gwen, but I miss my No Doubt so much.  And that means a concert will follow to promote the CD don’t you think?  ;)  I’ll be waiting impatiently by the computer for those to go on sale.

She even came out in the audience for a song.  Up in the middle of the covered area (outdoor concert) to be with her many girls.  I simply love Gwen.  She seems like such a real person that truly appreciates all that she has achieved.  Boy I can’t wait for the new album and to see her in concert again.  This time as herself with the guys, not this role model she needs to be with her dance music.  lol  I want her to let her hair down and go crazy on stage like the old days.  Ahhhh, they haven’t even done the CD yet and I’m jonesin’ for the thing.  lol

K, enough of that.  I’m downloading the Zune software to my laptop finally.   It’s killing me not to have my music out her on the back porch.  Oh yeah, well love me or hate me baby!  ;)

Superstah Ami-chan

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Aha, you are looking for my superstah posts. Well I have been neglectful. I didn’t mean to be and now that I am on WP with my beloved blog I will be much better about it. Or Retta will help push me that way right? lol

Right away I am drawn to the fact that this is her personal blog. I am at once connected to the chaos that is being a Mom. lol

The first post I came to was about Doctor Who. Now those of us in the states have probably not heard about this show unless you have been referred or watch sci-fi channel. I have been referred first by one of my favorite radio show hosts and now by the first blog back to supahstar sat. Hmm, that is fate so I am now adding it to my netflix! lol

I read about her packing and it makes me cringe. I am hoping that we will be moving by the end of the year, but her very real reminder of packing is not helping me want to sell this place. lol I’m hoping to move somewhere within a few miles and here she is moving to another country. I feel very inept. lol

Then I read about how she has the little one and I remember that I’m all good. Yes, I have almost tweens, but if I try hard I can make them clean up after themselves. :) Of course there is something very cute and much easier about a young-un. So enjoy him while he is so little. Cause now I have back talk and someone to clean the bathroom. lolololol
